Working on a Holiday

Today is the day before All Saints' Day (with All Souls' Day, called "Undas"), which is practically Halloween in the States. Even so, it's a non-working day for all, and that means I have to go home. In exchange, what was supposed to be a non-working holiday as well, All Souls' Day, became a working day. The reason behind to prevent November 3, a Thursday, from being "ipit", the only day which is not a holiday. November 4, on another hand, the end of Ramadan among the Muslim community, is also declared a non-working day via proclamation from the President.

Anyway, so they got me packing my things, including my clothes and school supplies. Me and my sister are not ready to go home.

On the way home, however, we went on separate ways, because it's their semestral break, and it's about 2 months without schoolwork. Me, on the other hand, being a college student, had to go home and study for 2 days, since this Thursday, I have to take a 2nd Comparative Anatomy Lab Long Exam. It's a very difficult exam, because the coverage is the entire Muscular System of the Cat. A lot of things had to be memorized: the name of over 100 muscles, as well as their origin, insertion in the cat's body, and their mode of action. Considering that I have a long time of not going to school, it would seem that this opportunity has been exploited by our professors.

Sigh. I can hear Mom summoning me to study again. I have no choice. I have to go.
