A Not-So-Happy Christmas

December is the twelfth and last month of the entire year. Starting with the 1st of January, it ends with the 31st of December. Everybody gets to prepare for these two very special days, as they mark the beginning and the end of a year of experience, of joys, of sadness, and of tears.

I have heard news of people passing away at the moment the second joyous occasion of the year, Christmas, happens. It's sad to think that this moths turned out to be one of the world's biggest ironies. National artists and famous movie stars are some of the many people who have died happily, if not some by medical complications and diseases.

One of the most prominent deaths is that of Fernando Poe Jr., one of the famous actor and an aspirant for the top position in the country, the President of the Philippines. His passing is celebrated nationwide, with fans, fellow movie stars, and well-known public officials flocking off to his coffin, where his earthly remains will be displayed before his transport from the Sto. Domingo Church and burial. Even at peace, some of the controversies still afloat as gossip and issues. His supposed nationality is one of them. Already, one of his loyal supporters voiced out her opinion to silence these issues now that the subject has found eternal peace in the Lord. Still, rumors circulate and will die down eventually, as new issues crop out in place of old ones like these.

The celebration of Christmas expresses "Peace on Earth", "Goodwill to All Men", and such, and to give joy to our loved ones. Let us take this to celebrate and share what we have to the unfortunate, the oppressed, and the unforgiven. I'm sure the recent calamities and disasters are signs that God wants us to care for them.
